Untethered or Tethered?

There are 2 types of jailbreaks,  Untethered and Tethered. Untethered basically means you can turn off your iPhone and it will boot up normally. Tethered on the other hand means every time you power off your iPhone, you will have to connect it to your computer and boot it tethered with a program like redsn0w. Most widely known jailbreaks will be untethered, but sometimes they can be tethered depending on your iPhone firmware, so the next time you look for a jailbreak, try to get an untethered one, it will save you lots of time.
